Heidi James is a founding member of The Hive, The Women Of 29th Street Rep. As a company member of 29th St Rep for seven years, she is thrilled to be a part of its evolution with Paula Ewin at the helm! Off Broadway includes the critically acclaimed American premiere of Rona Munroe's Bold Girls, dark comedy Lenny & Lou, In The Belly Of The Beast , & Fool For Love. She originated multiple roles in Pilgrims, a story theater production written by Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat Pray Love), funded by Mike Nichols, directed by Shira Piven & hard rock singer Ricky Roy in Celebrity for Tim Robbins Company The Actors Gang. She recently returned from a tour of InThe Belly Of A Drunken Piano, a production exploring the music of Tom Waits that performed all over Australia, at The Riverside Studios in London, The Edinburgh Festival, The Montreal Jazz Festival and Soho Playhouse in NY. Other Theater includes: The Cats Meow at The Matrix, Down The Shore at The Evidence Room, Savage In Limbo at The Bellmont Italian American Playhouse, the NY premiere of The Ninth Circle at The 45th St Theater, Judith Thompson's The Crackwalker at Williamsburg Performance Space, and Curse Of The Starving Class at Capital City Playhouse in Austin, Texas - her hometown. She has co-directed, co-produced and starred in productions of Cowboy Mouth, Caroline Kava'sThe Early Girl, and Feeling Randy a comedic journey through the songs of Randy Newman, commissioned by Riverside Parramata Theater in Australia. She has enjoyed working with inner city children at The 52nd St Project and The Greylock Project at The Williamstown Theater Festival. TV/FILM credits include: Law & Order, Conviction, National Mini Series The Perkins Family, Joel Schumaker's Falling Down, Anonymous and IFP's The Art Of Talking To Girls.
